Svalyava
Svalyava is situated in the center of Zakarpattya, the picturesque valley on the banks of river Latorutsya. The title is derived from the word "salt". In fact, this town was one of the biggest salt exporters in the Eastern Europe in ancient times.
The most famous place of interest is situated in few km from Svalyava. You can also visit the WWII victims memorial on the way there.The sight itself is a wooden church, built without using nails in 1588. It looks really impressing and interesting, in spite of such an age.
This region is also rich in different mineral sources, some of them are thermal. The compound is alike with famous all around the world "Borjomy" water. There are lots of different sanatoriums and clinics here, where skin and digestive system diseases are treated. You can also pass a short tretment course, or just to take a mineral bath or to taste the water.
This region popular among people who prefer winter kinds of sports. There are few ski routes and the services you may need.
