Chinadievo
The main pride and decoration of this village is a count Shenbourn's palace. There is a sanitarium "Karpaty" here nowadays. The pros of such situation are free entrance, sightseeing tour and a possibility to spend some time here and have a rest.
Carpathian mountains with their gorgeous nature and rich funa have always been a great place for rest and entertaimnent. Hunting here, for instance, was very popular among noble people. And exactly for this purpose Chinadievo vicinity was chosen by a austrian count Shenbourn. At first, a wooden hunting castle was built. But it was rebuilt into the luxurious palace in 1890.
This palace was performed in romantic style with gothic elements, which was quite popular that time. There is a park with a lake around the palace. I can't but mention, that the coast of the lake was executed to repeat the borders of Austrian empire. There are beeches, canadian spruces, sakuras, box trees and other rare trees here.
Chinadievo was a center of Chinadievo dominia - administrative district of Austrian empire. It was called Saint-Micklosh till 1944. And the castle of XV century is also used to be called in such way.
Saint-Micklosh castle is a severe, awkward building with an embrasure row under the roof. There are also big and dull underground caves. It was build in XV century by count Pereny, but was seriously damaged by polish army in 1657. The castle was remodeled into a palace later. Fascists had made a prison here. Nowadays it's rented by a famous artist Iosif Bartosh, who plans to transform it into a cultural center. Exhibitions, chamber music concerts are held here. There are also a celtic culture museum and a little library here.
Behind the castle you can find a gothic greek-catholic church of XIV century.
There's a hydrogen sulfide mineral source in 14 km from Chinadievo. For the colour of the water, it was called Synak (from the word "synij" - blue). This water is claimed to be really useful for your health and curing numerous diseases.
